Soil Erosion

Runoff and Soil Erosion Simulator – USLE

Soil Erosion Simulator (USLE)

Represents the effect of rainfall intensity and amount. Typical values range from 50–800 depending on climate.
Need help? Use these average R values by climate type:
• Arid/semi-arid: 50–150
• Mediterranean: 200–400
• Temperate/humid: 400–700
• Tropical (wet): 600–800+
Based on Wischmeier & Smith (1978) and FAO guidelines
Indicates how susceptible soil is to erosion. Depends on texture, structure and organic matter content.
Combines slope length and steepness. LS > 2 indicates high erosion risk areas.
Reflects the effect of cropping and vegetation cover on erosion rate. Lower values indicate better protection.
Accounts for soil conservation practices like contour farming, strip cropping or terracing.
